Welcome to Japan

Guess there is no better way to start this than just to jump in, after all, that is the only way I know how to start anything; dive into to the deep end and let’s see if I don’t drown. At least that is what I did when I left my home in Las Vegas and moved to Japan for a year.

It was kind of akin to leaping out of a perfectly stable airplane with a tarp as my parachute. And by tarp I mean too little money saved, no Japanese language skills and very limited social skills. Nevertheless, here I am, enjoying my stay in this behemoth of a city, hope you enjoy hearing about what comes next.

Alas, Delta Treats Me Like Gold

I would say that I am a loyal person, I would also say I am more loyal to those that give me perks!! I am a Medallion Sky Miles member and am extremely faithful. I fly no one else but Delta or a SkyTeam Member. So when I finally hit Gold Status I wanted to leap for joy lol Now I get the perks of priority baggage, front of the line treatment, curbside service and angel that fans my face while I sleep in Economy Comfort <– hahaha … A bit much! I know but the point is that I am GOLD!! and they know it.

ADVICE: Once you start traveling frequently, its important to find the programs that work for you. There is a bit of research involved in it and some  trial and error but you have to find what works for you. You need to be loyal to a flight program. Check to see which airline hubs at your local airport. If you don’t have an Airline that Hubs see what flies the most in your region. Like I love Delta, Delta Hubs out of Atlanta. I practically live in Atlanta therefore it’s a good deal. I will do a whole blog on the Award Tickets, upgrades fees and what not.

Also  You should join a Hotel Loyalty program. I am with Starwood and Marriott. The chance that you will find one in anywhere around the world is Amazing. Plus the Hotel standard transcends all countries so I will never end up in a dump. I know with Marriot its like 10 stays and you get a free stay. I will do a blog primarily about that one to.

I do my rental cars through the SkyMiles. But if you rent cars often they have loyalty programs as well.

My triumph here is that my hard work and dedication to flying 15000 miles Round Trip 2x a year and little trips in between has finally paid off!!! I am constantly on Delta.com, Expedia.com, Pricieline.com. It’s easy to see the cheaper tickets and jump, but the thing is that when you purchase you are just saving right then. Its like Retirements you forecast for the long run. You want the perks of going into Airport lounges for free, Complimentary Upgrades and discounted Award Travel oh and Companion flights. So you might pay more sometimes for staying Loyal but in the end the comps are so much better if you are planning on frequently traveling!!

Oh the Decisions!

I just realized that I will be able to leave from Dubai on the 10th of Jan if I wanted to. Can you imagine the oversight if I hadnt figured that out!!! My dilema now is that I love Dubai, but the flight to the States is 15 hours long. Actually, Im not sure if I mentioned that I work Overseas.. Hmm well I work in lovely Afghanistan just as an FYI… Now that we have that little tid bit out the way, should I just knock my beautification out in Dubai, or go ahead fly to the states and contribute to the American economy lol Ohh the decisions!!!!  I frequent Dubai often, so I have all the neccisities discovered and am loyal to them. Oh plus the shopping is amazing ;). I have never met a culture that thoroughly enjoys shopping the way it is in the UAE. I will definitely Blog on their malls once I am there, I am a self proclaim Shopping Addict. I even have my very SA (Shoppers Anonymous) partner 🙂 Whenver I am in the malls I always look at the women in full Burka and recall the scene from Sex and the City 2 where they unrobbed and showed off their fierce fashonista styles! I imagine that at least 60% of the women have a fly wardrobe.

The main point is that I still have time to keep my current reservation and stay and accomplish my transformation immediately. I have to scrub the afghanistan dirt off to unviel a brand new person lol or change my ticket to depart the night of the 10th and fly home for the Makeover…. What to do????

January Birthday Bash 2012 beginnings

Planning a vacation can be extremely strenuous and time-consuming. Especially if it’s a group trip, You want to do everything that YOU want to do, yet still make the trip fun for everyone else. Right now I am planning my next 21 day vacation. I will be turning 28 Years Old and wanted to do something BIG!! So I decided to do South Beach in all its glory during Martin Luther Kings Jr Weekend. I love Atlanta and will be making it my home so I will visit there and then on to Japan to visit my sister, who happens to be the CoArthur and my partner of Flirting With Travel. Obviously Im shooting for Epic vacation. We always try to rival the franchise The Hangover lol So the planning is tedious. Spontaneity plays a major factor in Epic trips. It always seems like the unplanned and unknown brings the best memories. And isnt that what trips are about, the adventure of getting to your destination and the unknown situations that occur during it? The thing is that you have to always create the environment, Research and knowing the area is HUGE is successfully conquering this new love. You never want to leave feeling like had I just known. With that being said, here is my itinerary for this trip and the details to follow of my planning woes, triumphs and input.

My itinerary for my Jan Birthday 2012 Vacation:

12 Jan – 17 Jan South Beach, Miami

18 Jan -23 Jan Atlanta

23-25 Jan LA ( Maybe overnight to Vegas)

26-Jan -31 Jan Tokyo Japan.

Dating has always been about the adventure of meeting someone new and
getting to know them on an intimate level, ultimately trying to find
the one person that is right for you… On the other hand Flirting is
the act of toying with an object with no serious intentions of really
being there forever… I prefer to Flirt than Date. With that being
said, My sister and I realized that we are not interested in being
tied down to one location, yet are enthralled by the mystique of
venturing to another land and being swept into an insatiable romance
by that particular culture, history and people.
We are 2 Young Urban Professionals that are in love with escaping our
mundane reality and flirting with the elusive nature of another’s
home. We flirt with the idea of absolute freedom and the tranquility
of traveling. We allow the wonders of the world to soothe our souls
and promises of unforeseen adventures to titillate our senses.
Please join us in our quest to quench our thirst on Flirting With Travel.

Hi my name is Misty… I currently work in Afghanistan as a Civilian
Contractor. I work 7 Days a week, 12 hours a day. As you could
imagine, I get extremely burnt out by this but hey this is my line of
work and I do what I have to do. I’m probably not too different from
you, working to make my life better yet desiring more than this day in
and day out routine. I get through my days by fantasizing about my
next encounter with this elusive love and how I can find my next heart
break. I Flirt With Travel because there are way too many destinations
on this planet for me to just give my heart to one. Wherever I go I
fall in love, and whenever I leave my heart breaks. But it’s all
mended at the sight of the next sexy destination. What can I say; I
wear my heart on my sleeve lol …
